“…Sometimes people try to destroy you, precisely because they recognize your power — not because they don’t see it, but because they see it and they don’t want it to exist.”—bell hooks (via missbostonsays)
There’s the saying, “Money can’t buy happiness”, and then there’s another one: “Whoever said money can’t buy happiness didn’t know where to shop.” I tend to agree with the latter, because when I un-boxed this Forever 21 order the other day, I was virtually exploding with excitement over everything. It was like Christmas morning!
I did go a little overboard, but I liked everything so much that I couldn’t bear to put anything back. Plus, Forever 21’s fantastic prices make it so easy to justify everything!
“Too many young girls don’t know how to act when someone’s being inappropriate with them. They giggle or they try to brush it off. Don’t do that. Tell them to go fuck themselves - be a bitch. If someone’s being disrespectful to you, be disrespectful right back. Show them the same amount of respect that they show you.”—Wise words from my mom (via magicrobotgeography)
Are there ways to tell when you love someone? -Anon.
On most evenings you’d find an answer peppered with sarcasm and lightheartedness here. Something about writing their name on your school binder, making photo collages of the two of you, planning imaginary weddings.
“Being born a woman is an awful tragedy. Yes, my consuming desire to mingle with road crews, sailors and soldiers, bar room regulars—to be a part of a scene, anonymous, listening, recording —all is spoiled by the fact that I am a girl, a female always in danger of assault and battery. My consuming interest in men and their lives is often misconstrued as a desire to seduce them, or as an invitation to intimacy. Yet, God, I want to talk to everybody I can as deeply as I can. I want to be able to sleep in an open field, to travel west, to walk freely at night.”—Sylvia Plath (via ladymargaerytyrell)
